I love the added texture and nutrition it adds. I cannot comment on the "crunchiness" of this cereal since I eat it after its soaked in milk all night. I do love the vanilla/cranberry flavor. I can use the sweetness from this mixture rather than sweetening the oats. Here's the recipe I use: 2 Tbs Qia Vanilla Cranberry Mix 1/3 cup rolled oats 1 tsp maple syrup (if desired) 1/2 cup milk Shake up all ingredients in small mason jar or small plastic container. Place in fridge overnight. In the morning, stir and serve with fresh berries. For the price, using 2 Tbs at a time seems more economical! The bag is not very big. I'm hoping to find this at a local store to price compare, but so far I've only been able to find it on Amazon. 17 of 17 people found the following review helpful Verified Purchase This review is from: Nature's Path Qi'a Chia Buckwheat and Hemp Cereal, Cranberry Vanilla, 7.90 Ounce (Grocery) This cereal is very good, taste good, only one problem is too crunchy and for many people that could be a problem, but what really impress me every time I eat these excellent seeds I say goodbye to the constipation, I eat it with some milk in the morning, love the almonds and dry cranberries taste mix with the seeds. Sometimes even when I eat whole wheat, granola or oats still with problems to go, but this is a wonderful product for people like me who suffers that kind of problem, I will buy it again. 29 of 34 people found the following review helpful Verified Purchase This review is from: Nature's Path Qi'a Chia Buckwheat and Hemp Cereal, Cranberry Vanilla, 7.90 Ounce (Grocery) I've eaten a bunch bags of the Cranberry Vanilla flavored Qi'a and I must admit it tastes better than all other cereals I've ever eaten. However, I'm concerned about the health safety of the natural vanilla flavor additive inside.I've read on several websites that "natural flavor" often contains MSG or other Excitotoxins. Natures Path confirms that there is no MSG inside but I'm wondering if it could be some other excitotoxin. Excitotoxins make food taste good but they have horrible side effects especially to children. Years back when I was consuming large amounts of aspartame (also an Excitotoxin) it gave me recurring headaches and chest pains. Natures Path refuses to disclose the exact composition of the natural vanilla flavor and says its proprietary information. Their emails below provide some information of its contents. The product is labeled as USDA Organic but the "natural flavor" is not identified as organic on the ingredients list. Does... Read more |
